Shanghai Zhongxi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is an enterprise with a long history of more than one hundred years. Now it becomes the focus of the governmental attention within the the pharmaceutical & agrochemical business scope due to its fast development in last two decades. Its products have won the honorable titles of Quality Product awarded by state, province and Shanghai Municipal Government many times.

Now it is composed of 12 plants, 1 state-grade technical center, 3 joint venture with Dupont and Bayer, 4 subsidiary companies and three overseas offices.

Milestones

• 1887, Zhongxi Pharmacy was set up.
• From 50's, Zhongxi became the leading manufacturer of anti-malaria drugs in China
• 1980, began production of pesticide Fenvalerate and became the largest manufacturer of this product in China
• 80's, fast development period, merged several plants and expanded it's business scope from pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals to household hygienic products, veterinary and related.
• 1993, renamed from Zhongxi Pharmaceutical Co. to Shanghai Zhongxi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. with its stocks issued. In the same year, the company obtained the permission of doing foreign trade.
• 1997, merged Asia Pacific Agricultural Chemical (Group) Company, became one of the largest manufacturers of agrochemical products in China.
• 1998, joint venture "Bayer Zhongxi agrochemical Co., Ltd." & "Bayer Zhongxi Consumer Care Co., Ltd." invested by Shanghai Zhongxi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. & Bayer AG was set up.
